Science Talent Search School of The Year

20 students from Kindergarten to Year 5 were recognised as Finalists in the 2017 STAWA Science Talent Search at a ceremony at Scitech last night. Lesmurdie Primary was also announced as the 2017 Primary School of the Year for a record 7th time. Congratulations to all staff and students for a wonderful effort.    

Pre-primary Scientists

Room 11 Pre-primary students recently experienced life as a microbiologist.  The children met a scientist who showed them how to grow bacteria from their own hands.  The students used petri dishes and wore laboratory coats during their experiment.  The students went on to make their own bacteria and use an incubator to develop the culture.   

Solar Car Challenge

Senior students recently competed in a Solar Car Challenge at school with the winning team representing the school in the 2017 Solar Challenge. Science Assembly

The Year 3 class recently presented their Science assembly. Each student was involved in doing an experiment and giving an explanation about the Science behind the experiment. The experiments included Musical Bottles, Optical illusions, Domino Effect and Newton’s Cradle.
